Chili Rellenos

While looking through the gazillion pictures I have on my computer I came across these wonderful chili photos. I don't know why I never posted them as I took them for that reason. Chili season is almost upon us again and I can smell them roasting as I type. Beer and or wine is a must for proper chili roasting.

Because It's Fun Monday

I will show you the worst of me. I don't know why I would do such a thing but it does feel good to be honest and just do it. We have books everyplace in our house. Joe has taken over a small dresser and put books in it. It doesn't matter that I have threatened his life for destroying the drawers with all that weight. When someone is moving or cleaning they send the books to me. They are like unwanted children, how can I turn them down? Each has something to say, something to teach. Oh and we have a problem with movies too. Shelf upon shelf of movies. It would be okay if they were all DVD's.

In A Book

This is 1970-71 at our big house in Riverside ,California. That is my boyfriend Jody. He and I talk several times a month and I still have that bed. The 3 legged table in the background is sitting by my bed now holding my reading lamp. I may be too sentimental but I love to have a few pieces of my past.

It wasn't until just now that I noticed I have not posted since last Monday. My problem is that I wait until too late at night and then I am too tired to be anything but dull. I figure if I am going to be boring I may as well be silent. And there you go. I read a great book this week and I wish I was still reading it. I have been going through a phase of longing for my hippie days. Never really left them all the way but enough to make me miss them. Peter Coyote's book," sleeping where I fall" is the book. Made me homesick for the old days.

Fun Monday

I have many pictures to post but think I will just use a few. The first is a Beatles momento I received when I was about 10 yrs old. They were handed out to all the kids going into the theater to see "Help." I don't know how I managed not to lose it. I got it in Roseville Calif. It has been all over the place with me.
The next is a picture that belonged to my Grandma Beth. It always hung by her bed. I was the only girl in the entire family and she spoiled me terribly. I loved it. My Dad gave the picture to her.
The last one is my Moms little bag. It was a gift from my Dad back in the 50's. It has been 25 yrs since I lost my Mom and not a day goes by that I don't miss her. I have no clue why "comments" are gone. Will try to put it back. Sorry.

OZZFEST!!

OZZFEST is free this year if you got your code number ahead of time and then were online at 7pm tonight and if you got lucky. Cady got lucky. Her and Joe are going to Albuquerque July 26th to see Ozzy.

yuck

I just noticed something gross in one of my kitchen photos. If you look you will see one of those fly sticky things hanging up. I got a pkg of them the other day to see if I could catch those damn hovering flies that keep coming in the front door. I can stand alot of things. Flies isn't one of them. I am obsessed with chasing down and killing each and every fly that makes its way into my home. Forget what other mess I may have going on, such as a pile of laundry, dirty dishes, bathroom ect. Having a fly in the house makes me freak out. My idea, although disgusting to see, worked pretty good. Everyone agreed that the fly strip would be better hanging in a stable and I need to take it away. I did but if need be I still have a few left in the box.

Fun Monday

I didn't remember it was comin up Fun Monday again.I actually took pics of my kitchen for last Monday. Going to show you my curtains I sewed by hand but changed my mind. Last Monday the kitchen was clean. Today, not so much.I didn't realize it until now just how many pictures I have taken in my kitchen. We have lived in this house for almost 17 yrs. I have painted that poor kitchen many strange colors in that time. Everytime I paint I also have to make new curtains.I don't like the blah color of my curtains this time and I will be sewing new ones soon. Our floors are horrible, the ceiling leaked last summer during the monsoons and I have never finished my last paint job on the poor cabinets.I will get it done eventually. I am posting last weeks clean and this weeks dirty kitchen.I noticed only a few posted dirty dishes.I thought it would be more FUN.

Fun Monday

It didn't start out too fun but I guess it will be better tomorrow. What's the trouble you ask? Teenage daughter. I was thinking the ugly years would pass us by with Cady. Looks like I was dreaming.

Okay, fun. I just had this all done and it took forever. My connection crapped out and here I am again. Takes all the fun out of it. The toilet is not finished. The magazine holder and the dustpan seem to have been made when I was heavy into my jadeite phase. I love that creamy green. The lampshade is not my best work. I don't like the blue ribbon that the beads are on. But the beads are beautiful and I had to have em. I ignore the blue. The"I LOVE YOU" picture was made by my daughter, Heather. It took her forever to pose the kids. Happy Monday.

More Grandsons

I have 5 Grandsons but you really only see Gage. He is always with me. These two cuties are the sons of my son Billy. The older is Jaylon. The baby is Nehemiah aka "Brother". Joe is going to dig out his big army tent and Billy is going to bring Jaylon out to camp in the back yard by the creek next week. Camping, I'll pass thanks. I grew up camping every summer in the Sierras or out near Virginia City,Nevada. My Dad would stay for 2 weeks and then go home and back to work for 2 weeks. He would then return and take us home. We found out later that he wasn't at work but with one of his many women. My Mom was a sweet lady. Back in those days women didn't have as many options. Got off subject, sorry.

So I Got A Little Behind

Trying to play catch up with the photos. I seem to have lost track of time. Here's Christian, Seth and Gage.

More Pictures

Joe and Cady in gangsta mode. Whatever.

Mountain Blues Festival

After a crazy week with the grandkids I was ready for a break. We almost never get out. Walmart and home. Last Saturday Joe and I ran up the mt to Ruidoso and got tickets to the Mountain Jazz Festival. Even Cady went with us. She didn't really want to go but she wasn't given a choice. She loved it. Great music up in the cool pines. Beer and food too. Found Lynne (band aid for one of the bands!) and after several hours of good music, we all went to Cattle Barons for dinner. We spent too much money but since we never get out we decided not to sweat it. Not even once did I bitch or complain. Okay, I did bitch about being outside and still having to breathe so much cigarette smoke. Around the 15th of next month it will be illegal to smoke in all public places. Yeah!! Took a few pictures of my beautiful girl. Pictured is Joe, Cady and my friend Lynne.
