Hot Off The Presses

Heather just called me from Disland. Sent this picture from the Buzz Lightyear ride. The kids are shooting some kind of light beam guns and in heavy concentration. Heather started to cry, she doesn't want it to be over. They still have 1 1/2 days left at Disland and then off for 2 days at Sea World. Cady and Christian were on the Haunted House ride when it broke down for a while. They loved it.Had to sit and watch the ghosts dancing . Oh, I can't wait till we can afford to all go.

FUN MONDAY # 27

This weeks fun is being hosted by Amy W over at "A Family Story". Thanks Amy.
I never had a new fridge and I was sure that a side by side was gonna make me happy. Not so. There is just no room. Door full of vitamins and salad dressings and the rest full of condiments.Gage likes it cuz he can climb up and get his own yogurt. After reading some of your posts I see that maybe I should give a little guided tour of my mess so here goes. The large container of beer is leftover from a birthday 2 weeks ago and is probably only good for cooking now. I drink gallons of water and you will always find lots of it. Gage loves his yogurt so I keep it in front. He recently had some chocolate yogurt at Grandpas house and insists that I buy him "black yogit".I keep my rotini in there too just in case weavils find it. I have a thing about keeping all my pasta and flour in the fridge. Maybe thats why I have no room for actual food.

I Will Be Late

Have to wait for ill hubby to help with pictures since I broke my camera. I promise my fridge is a nice mess, so come back after lunch.

Thank you Biddie

I am not sure I rock enough to get the Rock Award. I wish I was more consistant and an all round better writer. Maybe this is a way for me to get off my duff and make some much needed improvements, So thank you Biddie(Life Or Something Like It). I enjoy your posts a great deal and find you a very caring person. My family just called me from Newport beach. I am so excited.

Had a Great Time On the Trip I Didn't Take

I knew that pretty soon today I would be able to track down a few of you who were back from BlogHer. Since I always live my life vicariously through others, this is my way of being at BlogHer 2007. So far I have cruised by Lost A Sock, Hollow Squirrel, Zoot and Lizarita. Thank you girls for the posts and I hope there are many more to come.Frema has yet to post so maybe she is still on the road. If so, drive safely my dear. What a fun time it looks to have been. I am going to go dig around some more and see what else I can gleen.

Who Are "They"?

Thinking maybe I should post a picture of the family I am speaking of this day. This is my oldest child, Heather, her husband Jimmy and kids Oldest is Christian, middle boy is Seth and baby Natalie. This is the part of my giant family that is in Calif right now. The only one missing from this pic is Cady .You know who she is. I have so many people in my family that I think it's hard for you to know who I am talking about. I will finally have Joe show me how to add Links here and then it will be easier. I don't know why I have never wanted to learn except that I am pretty sure I haven't much room left on the harddrive of my brain and I worry about crashing. No, really. Oh and one more thing, I know my son-in-law would like me to tell you that since this pic was taken he has joined Weight Watchers and lost about 26 lbs. I am very proud of him.

YIPPY

As of a few minutes ago my family entered Calif. They drove half way yesterday and spent the night in Phoenix. My son-in-law, Jimmy said it rained from the time they hit Arizona yesterday.Today is fine. Southern Arizona is another place that I do not like. The heat never ends. Never. The great thing is you are just a few hrs from the Calif border. The kids will be playing on the beach before sunset today. Tomorrow at this time they will be deep into Disneyland. Cady was so sad about leaving Joe and I but is now feeling pretty darn excited. It's been many years since I went there. When Heather was a little girl we lived close enough to the park to be able to hear the fireworks every night at 9:00. I love it there and would move in and live there if I could. They promised to call me after they got off "The Pirates of The Carribean". They recently added Jack Sparrow to the pirates there and that should make it even better. Much as I wish I was there it's so great knowing my kids and grandkids are going to go to "THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH".

There She Goes

After months of anticipation the California trip begins in the morning. Cady is going with older sis Heather and her family.Cady worked all summer and saved up enough to pay for her tickets to 3 days at Disneyland and 2 at Sea World, hotel and food and 300.00 extra to buy some cool clothes and whatever else she wants.Heather has been so excited she has talked of little else for 3 weeks. Heather and Cady have tanned everyday for 2 months so they will look good in their bathing suits. We have spents hours online looking at all the wonderful things they will be doing out there. Today I ran all over town getting the last things Cady would need while she did her last day at work. After work Cady and I ran to the mall and picked up chinese food for our dinner. Got home ate and got her bag packed. Then without warning Cady fell apart. I wasn't expecting that. She's always spending the night at her other sisters house(sara) and pretty much is at that age where anyplace but home is where she wants to be. Imagine my surprize when she told me she didn't want to go. She felt guilty going without her Dad and I.It was too far from home, too many days away from home ect. She tells me once a week that as soon as she turns 18 shes "outa here." Hmm, guess she changed her mind. I really didn't know what to do. How do you let someone miss a chance to go to Disneyland? That's what I said, you don't. She would never forgive me if I let her miss this. She thought I was mad but I was just very stressed out. Yesterday I had to go to El Paso with Heather and 3 little ones to pick up Christian from the airport. He was in Georgia visiting his other grandparents and Dad.I have told you before how much I loathe El Paso. Nothings changed there. Seems that American Airlines misplaced Christian in Dallas. After much panicking, he arrived. That extra wait time with one 5 yr old a 3 yr old and an 18 month old was wonderful for Heather and I. Finally convinced Cady I was not mad at her for not wanting to go, long as she understood that she was still going. Got to heathers house and she really made Cady feel better. She got her laughing and talked about everything they would do together and by the time I left the only one who wanted to cry was me. Came in the door to my empty house and went to Cadys room and my heart broke. We have to run into town early to take Cady her white tennis shoes that were in her Dads truck. He was gone tonight at the drag races. He joined the La Luz Volunteer Fire Dept last week and this was his first job with them. He wants to see Cady off which will certainly cause more tears. E-Gads,we are way too emotional in this family.

Why I Wear Slippers

Was waiting for something interesting to come along to blog about. Heard old Bubba, Charley,Laska(3 legged dog) barking a minute ago. Look what he found walking down the hall. This is a vinegaroon. It is in the scorpion family . This picture was not taken by us. My camera is dead for now so I found this pic on Reptile Auctions. It's about the same big size.If you want to buy this guy he is only about 35.00. Whenever it rains they come on inside. They are pretty harmless but you will never get used to seeing one in your house. Many times I would get up at night to check on the kids and cover everyone up and wonder why I was smelling vinegar. About the same time I am wondering it hits me, I have just kicked a vinegaroon. Gosh I hated that. Having to quickly find a container and the damn creature and catch it. You are never going to go back to sleep with that thing crawling in your house and especially your kids room. Since we have lived in this house I have twice had a scorpion on me and once been stung. It feels like someone touching you with a jolt of electricity. It pulsated for a week after. I survived and now I am not so afraid. I still don't like bugs though.

Watching Live Earth. Don't just sit there, get up and turn off a few lights. Joe and I are trying to find more ways to get with the Green program.
